Sour Economy Bites Pet Owners

AP - FRANKLIN, Mass. - Diana Bardsley wiped tears from her eyes as she recalled taking food off her plate to feed her beloved spaniel Hunter and two Siamese cats.

Her greatest fear: that she could be forced to surrender the animals as she struggled to stretch her food stamps and Social Security income to meet the escalating cost of living.

    So far, my 3 all-indoor cats are surviving on the dry food from Innova and Canidae, as that is all they will eat that I consider safe. Also, the more you switch commercial foods, the greater your chance of coming into contact with one of the tainted brands. And the results could be chronic renal failure, which can take years, instead of acute renal failure that we have all mostly been seeing.
